Hello!
My name is Michelle Cheng, and I’m an LA based story & visual development artist. I graduated from CalArt’s Character Animation program in 2024, and am currently making art with StudioMDHR.
I love filmmaking not only as a means of expression, but also as a gateway to learning about places far from my own. My sophomore film “Birdsong”, later nominated for the Annie Awards, allowed me to delve into the unique ecological problems facing the Hawaiian Islands. I hope to continue working on projects with heart and/or educational value.
Outside of drawing, I spend my free time writing art process videos, exploring neighbourhoods with my camera, and trying to cram as many foreign languages into my brain before it succumbs to the rigidity of age.
